Joint task forces
Task forces unite federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to share intelligence, conduct investigations, and coordinate arrests in terrorism, gang, cybercrime, crimes against children, and human trafficking cases.
Services and data
The FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division, or CJIS, is a high-tech hub that provides a range of state of-the-art tools and services-including crime data and tip processing-to law enforcement, national security and intelligence community partners, and the general public.
Training and professional development
The FBI offers training opportunities to U.S. and international agencies and partners. The range of professional courses, to include the National Academy, serves to improve the administration of justice and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.
Crisis response
The Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) is responsible for the Bureau's global readiness and response to the world's most complex, high-consequence threats. When conventional solutions are exhausted, CIRG provides the decisive resolution required to protect the nation and uphold the law.
Cyber
The success of the FBI Cyber mission depends on our partnerships-with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and the private sector. Our partners play an integral role in defending against a cyberthreat no agency can face alone.
Law enforcement engagement
The FBI supports its large network of law enforcement partners-including federal, state, local, Tribal, territorial, and campus agencies-through engagements, trainings, information sharing, fusion centers liaisons, and national partner calls.

August 5, 2026With summer in full swing, the FBI’s commitment to protecting our communities remains unwavering. Through Operation Summer Heat, agents and analysts across the country continue to focus on the offenders who pose the greatest risks to public safety. ... Out of @FBICleveland our teams worked alongside partner agencies to execute a coordinated takedown of the 627 Gang, resulting in the arrest of 10 subjects and seizure of over 2 dozen firearms. On the other side of the nation, @FBISanFrancisco worked alongside ATF, USMS, DEA, and the Oakland Police Department to target offenders who possessed firearms. This effort resulted in 50 federal indictments and 76 firearms taken off the street. As a whole, your FBI will continue to deliver results with your safety in mind. Our communities are at the center of our mission.
